Your data
Which data we process when you visit this website or send us a request, why we do so, how long we keep it and what your rights are.
In short
Last updated:
WeFix Auto's, with branches in Antwerp/Merksem and Brasschaat, is the trade name of the company below. It is the controller of the processing of personal data described in this statement (‘we’). For questions or requests about your data, contact [email protected].
We process the data you give us yourself. Which data depends on the form or the message:
Please do not send us health data, copies of identity documents or other sensitive data that your question does not need.
We use your data only for the purpose for which you give it to us. Each purpose has its own legal basis (Article 6 GDPR):
The required fields are marked with an asterisk (*) in every form. Without that data we cannot handle your request or reply to you; you fill in the other fields if you wish.
Sending a request is not consent to advertising, and the forms do not ask for such consent either.
Until you click send, what you fill in stays in your own browser. When you send a form, this website’s server, at our hosting service Cloudflare, processes your answers and sends them as an e-mail to the mailbox of the branch you chose, or to our general address.
When form messages are delivered directly, this is done through the e-mail service Resend, which processes your contact details and the content of your request for that purpose. A tyre request may also be registered directly in our internal system for tyre requests.
If you gave your e-mail address with a question, quote or tyre request, we may send you a confirmation of receipt with a short summary so you can recognise your request.
To limit misuse, the server briefly counts how many requests come from a connection, using a code derived from your IP address, without storing the IP address itself. The form’s logs only record the kind of request and the outcome, not your name, address or message.
Your request arrives as an e-mail in the mailbox of the branch you chose. If you did not choose a branch, a tyre request goes to our Merksem branch and a job application to our general address. The form shows you which address that is before you send. An e-mail you send us directly arrives in the same way.
Our e-mail traffic and mailboxes are provided by Hostinger. Your message, your sender details and the related technical data are kept there, as described under ‘How long we keep data’. If you gave your e-mail address, the branch can reply to you directly.
Your data is used by the staff who handle your request, service or application. In addition, these service providers process data on our behalf:
If you load a map, or open Google Maps or WhatsApp through a link, that provider processes data itself, under its own terms and privacy policy. Otherwise we only pass on data when a specific legal obligation requires it.
Our service providers operate internationally. As a result, your data may also be processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA), for example in the United States. Such a transfer is only allowed on the basis of an adequacy decision of the European Commission or with appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Articles 44 to 49 GDPR).
Would you like to know which safeguard applies to a transfer, or receive a copy of or information about it? Ask us at [email protected].
We keep data no longer than necessary for the purpose for which we received it. These criteria apply:
On the home page and on the pages of our branches you can load a Google Maps map. As long as you do not click ‘Load map’, this website loads nothing from Google Maps. If you load the map, Google receives your IP address, among other things, and may set cookies. Google itself is responsible for that, according to Google's privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
‘Directions from my location’, ‘Open in Google Maps’ and the links to write a review open Google Maps in a new tab. This website does not ask for your location itself.
This website is hosted through Cloudflare. To deliver the pages to your browser and to secure the website, Cloudflare receives technical data, such as your IP address, the time of your visit, the page requested and details of your browser.
You can ask us which data we hold about you and have incorrect data corrected. Under the conditions of the GDPR you can also ask us to erase your data, restrict its use or transfer it. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; what happened before the withdrawal remains lawful.
Send your request to [email protected]. We reply without undue delay and in any event within one month of receipt. If a request is complex or we receive many, that period may be extended by two further months; we will then tell you within the first month, with the reason. If we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we may ask you to confirm it.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), via dataprotectionauthority.be. You do not have to wait for our answer first.
If our services or the way we process data change, we update this statement. The top of the statement shows when it was last updated.
